The Ten Year Oddumentary

We are hard at work creating an odd look back over the last ten years at the Oddfellow Theater. It's our very own Oddumentary. This DVD will feature highlights of the past ten years including construction of the theater, interviews with performers and fans, and excerpts from the hundreds of shows we have put on. It's a chance to relive some of our biggest laughs and take a look behind the scenes at how they come about.

An Odd History

In late 1996, Buckfield natives Mike and Kim Miclon purchased the old Odd Fellow’s Hall from the town. With the help of a small group of friends and fellow performers, in seventeen months they transformed it into the elegant, 156-seat Oddfellow Theater.

Since it’s grand opening in May of 1998, the Oddfellow Theater has become well-known statewide as a presenter of some of the most unique original live performances, as well as some of the best Maine and national artists. The Oddfellow Theater has received national attention on CBS Sunday Morning and in Yankee Magazine and Salt Magazine.

About Mike

Michael Miclon is at the helm as Artistic and Executive Director of the theater. Michael began his performing career in 1982 as an apprentice to Benny and Denise Reehl, the creators of a touring New Vaudeville troupe called The Buckfield Leather and Lather Show. Michael continued his study with mime master Tony Montanaro at the Celebration Barn Theater in South Paris, Maine. Since that time he has built a national reputation as an outstanding variety performer, juggler and comedian, and has performed his high-energy antics everywhere from the White House to the Festa Americana in Naples, Italy.
